What Can I Expect in Therapy?
In therapy, you can expect someone who has an acceptable understanding of your difficulties, listens keenly, and shows complete respect.
We will work collaboratively toward your goals, not mine.
As your psychologist, I will check regularly on how you feel about the therapy process and our working relationship. There is almost always some humor and laughing, but it will not be entirely easy nor meant only to make you forget your problems momentarily.
Therapy will end with you having a resolution or better understanding of the problems we have addressed.
I strive to leave you with clear ideas on how to handle future stresses in an effective manner.
How Does Therapy Work?
The methods I use include cognitive therapy, behavioral activation, systems relationship therapy, mindfulness training, problem-solving therapy, and good old supportive counseling.

Once you have scheduled your first appointment, please print out the forms above, complete them at home, and bring them with you to your first therapy appointment. You can also complete this information when you arrive for your initial appointment if you wish. In that case, you should plan to arrive about 15 minutes early to give yourself enough time to complete the information in our waiting room before your appointment begins.
